Patonga
Darkinjung Country
Builder: Ironbark NSW
An original fibro fishing cottage in the heart of Patonga is carefully restored, revealing its modest coastal character after unsympathetic additions and faux brick cladding. Without increasing the footprint, the design replaces poorly performing aluminium windows, revitalises the living spaces, and strengthens the home's connection to both the street and rear garden.
A reconfigured plan clearly separates public and private zones, creating a seamless flow from the living room through the kitchen and dining to a generous rear deck and pool beyond. A new gabled roof introduces volume and an abundance of natural light into the heart of the home, while operable louvred windows capture cooling coastal breezes and reinforce its connection to place.
